Bringing You Back to Connection

And Back into Balance

Connection is a lost art.

The body and mind know how to heal.

The weight of trauma, disconnection, and a prevailing focus on symptom management gets in the way. We provide care that sees you as the whole person you are.

At Ren Denver, we believe that connection to yourself, your body, and a community is the starting point for health and wellbeing. It’s the way that healing can move through our bodies and minds, and most people are starved of true, deep connection.

We work with your body, mind, and spirit as our dedicated team helps bring you back into balance. Ren Den provides curated whole-person care for all parts of you, together.

Care Grounded in Community

Tailored uniquely for you as an individual

Here, therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, bodywork, movement, nutrition, and community aren’t separate services that just so happen to share a building.

They’re parts of our whole-person philosophy working together in cohesion. We believe mind, body, and spirit were never meant to be treated as separate entities, and real healing requires connecting with and addressing all of them. Here, we care for you as the whole person you are.

Together, reconnecting you to your natural state of balance.

Community is Part of the Medicine

Community isn’t just an add-on here. It’s part of the healing process. Our inspiring, supportive community helps you sustain and maintain balance.

A Coordinated Care Experience

Providers work together as a dedicated team, unified in their mission to facilitate your deepest healing. With a plan tailored to you, you’ll never be left to navigate alone.

You’re Not a Set of Symptoms Here

The depression weighing you down, the tension in your shoulders, the story underneath… here, these are connected parts of a bigger picture and healed together.

The Story Behind Ren Denver

Founders Lisa Bullis, DACM, L.Ac., and Jim Kemp, PsyD spent decades building separate practices centered around guiding people back to wellness.

The first time they formally combined modalities was in co-leading a couples retreat they carefully curated to be a healing experience for individuals, the couples, and the community as a whole.

The results moved them tremendously. They saw firsthand the deep level of transformation, energy, and growth that unfolded in collaboration, and they knew they were onto something.

Real healing is integrative.

It doesn’t take place in parallel solitude or in health silos. Community is the container for the care and support individuals need to reconnect with wellness.

The couples retreat was the catalyst for Ren Denver. Ren Denver marries Classical Chinese Medicine, Mental Health, and other healing modalities all under one roof to provide you with cohesive, whole-person care designed entirely around you. No guessing, wondering, and navigating your health alone.

This is single, coordinated care built for how you live.

Jim Kemp, PsyD

Licensed Psychologist for Couples, Men, and Adults

Jim is a licensed psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with adults and couples. He’s guided by the conviction that connection is the medium through which healing moves and many of us, in the modern world, are starved for it.

He grew up in New Hampshire, where he learned about endurance (he jokes the long, dark winters gave him an early education in seasonal depression) and resilience. After college, he experienced the western mountains for the first time as a volunteer in Montana helping the unhoused population.

Jim’s plan was a career in business, but life has a way of redirecting us. What changed Jim’s trajectory was a pattern he kept noticing throughout his work: those making the biggest changes were, without exception, the ones most engaged in therapy and self-work. He decided to pursue therapy as a career for himself. From Montana, he moved to San Diego before heading to Denver for graduate school. In Denver, he found a fit with the mountains, culture, and sunshine and, even more importantly, discovered community, love, family, and a life.

His clinical focus includes Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems, both grounded in attachment theory. Jim identifies first as a humanist; he’s more interested in your whole story than giving you a diagnosis code. He also facilitates men's groups built on brotherhood and accountability, which he sees less as a facilitation for men showing up for one another.

Jim’s work is built on the foundation that people heal in relationship, to themselves and to others. Outside the office, you can find Jim enjoying live music, on a bike ride, camping with his family, or deep in conversation with someone he loves. He goes to his own therapy regularly and is dedicated to doing his own self-work alongside his clients.

Meet the Founders & Care Team

Lisa Bullis, DACM, L.Ac.

Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine | Herbalist | Classical Chinese Medicine Practitioner

For Lisa, healing has always been a conversation between the body and something deeper. She views it as a quiet remembering, a concept she began learning alongside her grandmother, who taught her to listen to the quiet language of plants and presence.

Lisa holds a Doctorate and a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health & Science. Her clinical experience spans hospitals, hospice rooms, homeless clinics, rural outposts, and neurological rehabilitation hospitals, along with two community-acupuncture clinics she established herself in Denver. She’s helped build integrative acupuncture programs at Craig Hospital and the Chanda Center for Health, and advocated for expanded access to holistic care through Colorado Medicaid's CIH waiver program. She’s studied Western herbalism and sacred plant medicine under Joan Zinn since 2015.

Lisa practices the Classical Chinese Medicine lineage as taught through the transmissions of Ann Cecil-Sterman and the profound teachings of Jeffrey Yuen—an 88th-generation Daoist priest of the Jade Purity School. This lineage, an ancient, oral tradition, shows us that illness is never merely physical, but mental and spiritual as well.

Tracy McKenna

Certified Professional Health Coach | IIN Graduate

For Tracy, health is about creating a life that supports who you are and how you want to feel. She believes lasting change happens when taking care of yourself becomes part of the way you live—not another item on a to-do list.

After more than 20 years in the wild world of event production and fundraising, Tracy understands what it means to feel busy and overwhelmed. Between career, marriage, raising a family, friendships, travel, community, and life’s inevitable curveballs, she knows firsthand just how important—and surprisingly difficult—it can be to make yourself a priority.

A former ballet dancer and yoga instructor, Tracy has always been curious about what makes us feel good in our bodies and our lives. Over the years, that curiosity grew into a deeper interest in how the everyday choices we make shape how we feel. She decided to make it official and pursue formal training through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), becoming a Certified Professional Health Coach.

Tracy’s approach is practical, curious, and personal. She doesn’t believe there is one right way to be healthy, or that you need to turn your life upside down to feel better. Instead, she works with clients to understand what matters most to them, what may be getting in the way, and what small changes might make the biggest difference. She believes wellness should add to your life, not take it over.

At the heart of her work is the belief that health is not a destination. It’s an ongoing relationship with ourselves—one that evolves as our lives do. Tracy is passionate about helping people navigate change with more intention, energy, and joy.

Tracy lives in Golden with her husband, their two boys, their dog, and their kitty. When she’s not coaching or working, you’ll usually find her outside with friends and family—hiking in the mountains, skiing, walking the dog, or cheering from the sidelines at one of her boys’ sporting events. She loves yoga, planning a good trip, and lingering around the dinner table for a conversation that somehow lasts much longer than expected.

“A simple testimonial from one of your practices could go here. Eventually, we can replace it with your best testimonial from a client of Ren Den specifically.”
